Film distribution is one of the major activity areas for Paradise Group
Over 14 years in cinema distribution
Paradise Film Distribution Company was founded in 1992 as a films distributor. Paradise Group obtained rights for distribution of about 500 movies. Kinobusiness magazine (Issue 4(50)) stated that Paradise Group has continuously gathered 4.5% of total cinema distribution receipts in CIS.
Russian films account for a major portion of these proceeds as Russia’s leading film makers have long pointed out the Group’s success. Paradise Group has become a brand for high quality distribution of Russian films and demonstrated its outstanding film promotion capabilities with Russian-made movies.
$1 million for a project
In 2001- 2005 Paradise Group presented the world’s most sensational cinema projects to Russian audience. The list includes highly successful blockbusters with box-office exceeding $1 million in Russia alone such as Rob Bauman’s «Reign of fire», «К-19» by Catherine Bigelow, «Gangs of New York» by Martin Scorsese, «Bruce Almighty» by Tom Shadyak and «Intolerable cruelty» by Cohen Brothers along with «Chronicles of Riddick» by David Тwohy, «Alexander» by Oliver Stone and «Aviator» by Martin Scorsese.

Paradise Film Distribution Company found its own form of working with art-house films. It acquires distribution right in Russia for films made by such famous film directors as Woody Allen («Deconstructing Harry», «Sweet and lowdown», « The Curse of the Jade Scorpion», «Small time crooks », «Hollywood Ending” Anything Else”)
Pedro Almodovar («All about my mother», «Hable con ella», «Bad education »), Emir Kusturica («Black cat, white cat», «Life is a miracle»), Martin Scorsese (Gangs of New York, «Aviator»), Atom Egoyan (Ararat), Zhang Yimou («Hero», «House of flying daggers»), Franco Zeffirelli (Callas Forever), Istvan Szabo («Taking sides»), Mira Nair (Vanity Fair) and Andre Techine ("Les temps qui changent”)
DREAM COMING TRUE.
Many times projects by Paradise were recognized at international cinema forums. They were nominated for Academy Awards and such festivals as Cannes, Berlin, Venice and other international cinema festivals. «Traffic» by Todd Field, «Iris» by William Soderberg, «All About My Mother» by Pedro Almovadar, «Adaptation» by Spike Jones, «Lost In Translation» by Sofia Coppola and «Avaitor» by Martin Scorsese were awarded Oscar prizes.
The list of project for which Paradise Company acquired rights to distribute in Russia in the future is also very large.
YESTERDAY
In autumn 2004 we distributed the sequel of the famous «Black Hole» blockbuster entitled « Chronicles of Riddick » by David Тwohy. The famous Vin Diesel produced and starred in the motion picture as the main character.
Those who appreciate author’s documentary film have had an opportunity to see the
worldwide booster and the Palm d’Or winner of the Cannes Films Festival 2004 — «Fahrenheit 9/11» by American film director Michael Moore. It was Paradise Company that acquired this outstanding piece of documentary cinema art for distribution in Russia.
Last autumn we introduced such motion pictures as the comedy entitled Wimbledon (starring are Paul Betany and Kirsten Dunst); retro futurism action movie «Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow» (starring: Angelina Jolie, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow); European film makers were represented by Jean-Paul Salome with his adventure film «Arsene Lupin».
The autumn’s most anticipated project was that by the famous American film director and producer Oliver Stone («The People vs. Larry Flynt», «Platoon», «Nixon», «JFK», «Born on the 4th of July», «Natural Born Killers»,“Alexander”. This picturesque and expensive historic action movie featuring participation of Colin Farell, Antony Hopkins, and Angelina Jolie is a story of the famous emperor and military leader of ancient times Alexander of Macedonia. Another new movie that came out in autumn was the adventures action «L’Enquete Corse» with Jean Reno starring.
THIS YEAR
In 2005 the list of new films included « In Good Company » starring Dennis Quaid, Topher Grace and Scarlett Johansson; Vanity Fair by the popular Indian film director Mira Nair; « 36 Quai des Orfèvres » with the inimitable Daniel Auteuil and Gérard Depardieu. Amateurs of oriental cinema watched the new movie by Zhang Yimou
« House of Flying Daggers ». And those who admire the most unordinary and unpredictable film director Martin Scorsese have finally had a chance to watch his new «AVIATOR» project about the life of America’s prominent multimillionaire Howard Hughes. The drama brought together a constellation of American movie stars including Leonardo Di Caprio, Cate Blanchett, Kate Beckinsale, Adam Scott, Gwen Stefani, Alec Baldwin, Jude Law and others. As 2005 moves along we will also introduce such films as: " The Ballad of Jack and Rose ", "Don’t come knocking ", " The Huadu Chronicles: Blade of the Rose ", " The Constant Gardener ", "Revolver", "An unfinished life", " The Myth ", "2 for the money", "Alpha Dog", "Memoirs of geisha".
Family Screen section regularly distributes motion and animated pictures for audiences of all ages. For instance, in June we are launching French comedy "Iznogoud". This is a long-awaited screen version of the world’s famous comic pictures by Rene Goscinny (he is the author of Asterix and Obelix) and Jean Tabary.
Early in 2006 Paradise will distribute the drama entitled "Ask the dust", with Salma Hayek and Colin Farrell starring and "Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction ", the sequel of the earlier famous movie starring splendid Sharon Stone.

Paradise gladly works with Russian films. The company ensured distribution of such films as «His Wife’s Diary» by Aleksei Uchitel, «12th Autumn» by Igor Talpa, «Life Full of Fun» and "Lover" by Piotr Todorovsky, «27 Stolen Kisses» by Nana Jorjadze and “Angel on the Curb” by Svetlana Stasenko.
Late in 2004 we distributed the first project by Paradise Production Center — it was a comedy by Vladimir Zaikin entitled "Slushatel". On November 17, 2005 we are planning to distribute a new movie by Alexander Atanesian entitled «Bastards», which is based on a story of the same name by Vladimir Kunin.
